Short Bio
Dr. Stephen F. Carter was awarded a Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Manchester in 2010. He currently works at the Wolfson Molecular Imaging Centre, University of Manchester, UK. His main research interest is Dementia Imaging Biomarkers; specifically Alzheimer’s disease biomarkers. So far his research has primarily focussed on PET-based biomarkers that include [18F]FDG, [11C]PIB, [18F]Florbetapir, [18F]Flutemetamol and [11C]D-L-Deprenyl. Adopting these neuroimaging research tools his work attempts to understand how the synergistic interaction of different physiological processes in vivo cause the cognitive dysfunction of Alzheimer’s and other dementias.
